Lena Dunham Calls in to Howard Stern: "I'm Thin For, Like, Detroit"

Lena Dunham, Howard Stern

One day after Lena Dunham's big wins at the Golden Globes, something even more surprising happened: Shock jock Howard Stern issued a public apology to the Girls star on his radio show. Proving to be more gracious than most, Dunham called in to forgive Stern.

Returning Winter Shows: Where we left off

When she called in on Wednesday, Dunham was extremely diplomatic and didn't hold a grudge. "I appreciate it and I appreciate your effort to rectify," Dunham told the host. "But whether you'd done that or not, I'd have remained a [Stern] enthusiast."

But her support of Stern's brash persona doesn't mean she believes everything the radio host said was fair. In response to Stern calling her a "little fat girl who kind of looks like Jonah Hill," Dunham told the host, "I'm not that fat, Howard. I don't mean to take major issue with you about this. I'm not super thin, but I'm thin for, like, Detroit!"

Winter TV's must-see new shows

"You're not obese or anything," Stern admitted.

"Thank you. Another thing for my gravestone," Dunham said, with mock-gratitude. "Howard Stern says, 'You're not obese or anything.'"

How do you think Dunham handled the situation?
