Scoop! Cloris Leachman Harasses TNT's Nurse HawthoRNe

Cloris Leachman

Earmuff your horses. Cloris Leachman is checking into the hospital at the heart of HawthoRNe, TNT's new medical drama premiering Tuesday, June 16, and starring Jada Pinkett Smith and Michael Vartan.

Apparently still enjoying some heat from her recent Dancing with the Stars run, Leachman will play Mrs. Lachman (heh), a cantankerous patient who terrorizes the nurses — Pinkett Smith's Chief Nurse Christina Hawthorne included — by, for example, throwing perfectly good Jell-O at them.

Speaking of Jell-O ... former Cosby kid Malcolm Jamal-Warner also appears in Leachman's June episode, playing a guy whose brain aneurysm-induced dementia leads him to believe that Christina is his wife. (Yeah, like Jada never heard that one in a bar before.)

Fun and random fact: The title HawthoRNe, while clever, is a minor hell to type. Go ahead, try it.
