Lady Gaga Earns Record-Breaking 13 VMA Nominations

Lady Gaga has topped the MTV Video Music Award nominations with 13 nods — the most ever received by an artist in a single year.
"I'm so honored for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history," Gaga told People. "Ironically, I'm even more proud it's an unlucky number: 13."
Gaga's "Bad Romance" video is nominated in multiple categories, including best pop video, best dance video and best female video. She also is up for best collaboration for "Telephone" featuring Beyonce.
Eminem followed close behind with eight nominations for his "Not Afraid" video.
The 2010 VMAs will air live Sept. 12 at 9/8c.
