Lady Gaga says that Madonna supports her new single "Born This Way."
The song, which was released last week, has been criticized by fans and critics for its similarity to Madonna's '80s hit "Express Yourself, but Gaga said on Monday's Tonight Show that the music icon has given her blessing.
"The good news is I got an email from her people and her sending their love and complete support on behalf of the single," she told Jay Leno. "If the queen says it shall be, then it shall be."

Gaga, who calls herself the hugest Madonna fan, also announced on the late-night program that she's going to tape a special for HBO about her Monster Ball tour.
