SNL Sends Off Kristen Wiig: What Will the Show Do Without Her?

Kristen Wiig

Mick Jagger may have been the host and the musical guest for Saturday Night Live's season finale, but the show belonged to Kristen Wiig, who, after seven years, is leaving the show.

And the final episode was proof of just how much star power the show's losing. For the night's final sketch, Wiig and other cast members posed as graduating students before Jagger brought Wiig on stage for everyone — including executive producer Lorne Michaels — to share one final dance with the departing star.

In addition to that final send-off, Wiig took one last chance to reprise many of her most popular characters, including frequent "Secret Word" contestant, Broadway actress Mindy Elise Grayson, and Junice, who finally found a suitor in the handsome Italian singer Johnny Prosciutto (aka Wiig's Bridesmaids co-star Jon Hamm).

Kristen Wiig on SNL future: "Everybody has to leave"

It's still unclear if the season finale also marked the end of the road for Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis, who also are reportedly leaving the show. Perhaps a clue lies in the night's Digital Short, a sequel to "Lazy Sunday," the first of Samberg's shorts to go viral for SNL. The clip ends with Samberg saying, "This is how I finish it."

Oh, yeah, Jagger hosted. In addition to his performances with Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire and Jeff Beck, Jagger also referenced the Rolling Stones when he played a shy insurance salesman named Kevin, who just couldn't stand his fellow bar patrons' karaoke renditions of the band's big hits.

So what do you think of Wiig's exit? Do you think SNL will be able to survive without her? Do you want to see Samberg and Sudeikis back in the fall? Sound off below!
