"Kristen Wiig is officially on board for Anchorman 2. Couldn't be more excited," director Adam McKay wrote on his Facebook page late Monday.

The Saturday Night Live vet will reportedly play the wife of Steve Carell's dim-witted weatherman Brick Tamland. With the talents of Carell and Wiig combined, that is going to be one heck of a pants party.
Wiig, who earned an Oscar nomination last year for co-writing Bridesmaids, left SNL in May and will lend her voice to Despicable Me 2, also featuring Carell.
Anchorman: The Legend Continues hits theaters on Dec. 20.
