Two men have died after a stage being built for Madonna's concert collapsed in Marseilles, France.
A British worker died Friday from injuries sustained in the Thursday accident at the Velodrome, the Associated Press reports. A French worker was killed on the spot. Eight others were injured and remain hospitalized.

"I am devastated to have just received this tragic news," Madonna said in a statement. "My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking news."
The singer, who was in Italy at the time of the accident, has canceled her Sunday show in Marseilles, which was part of her Sticky & Sweet tour.
