The Last King of Scotland director Kevin Macdonald has set his sights on reggae legend Bob Marley for his new documentary, Marley, TheWrap.com reports.
"What made Bob tick is probably unanswerable but viewers will certainly feel that they know him a little better after seeing our documentary. I am grateful to the Marley family for entrusting me with their heritage," Macdonald said, alluding to how his relatives are participating in the project.

Tuff Gong Pictures and Shangri-La Entertainment is producing the film, which is scheduled to be released in 2011 to mark the 30th anniversary of the singer's death.
Macdonald, whose credits include the 2009 feature State of Play, made the Academy Award-winning 1999 documentary, One Day in September, about the 1972 terrorist attack at the Munich Olympics.
