Kevin Costner Joins Superman Film as Jonathan Kent

Kevin Costner has signed on to join the upcoming Superman reboot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Academy Award-winning director of 1990 Best Picture Oscar winner Dances With Wolves, 56, will play the Man of Steel's adopted father, Jonathan Kent. Diane Lane is set to play his on-screen wife, Martha, with Henry Cavill in the title role.

The film, due to hit theaters in December 2012, will be directed by Zack Snyder (Watchmen) and produced by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight).
Costner most recently co-starred in last year's The Company Men.
