The original American Idol has rocked a fuller figure as of late, attracting a swarm of negative comments from the media and blogs. Clarkson says she's aware of her fluctuating size because "my happy weight changes."
"Sometimes I eat more; sometimes I play more. I'll be different sizes all the time," she says.

The singer keeps fit through CrossFit, a strength-training and cardio workout regime used by police academies and the military. Likening it to boot camp, Clarkson tackles the program with her backup singers and hair-and-makeup artist.
"They laugh at me, because most of the time they're like, 'Oh, my God, I don't want to go,' and I'm the one saying, 'I'm ready!'" she says. "It makes me feel like G.I. Jane. It's very empowering. I feel like I can whup a--! And in my shows, everybody has noticed. They're like, 'Dude, you have 100 percent more energy!'"
