Keck's Exclusives: Playboy Club Books Another Guest Performer

Raphael Saadiq

Legendary R&B musician Sam Cooke, famous for such soulful tunes as "Twisting the Night Away," "You Send Me," and "A Change Is Gonna Come," has been booked for NBC's The Playboy Club.

Singer/songwriter Rafael Saadiq, whose stylings have been heard on film and television soundtracks since the early '90s, will play the late singer in the early 60's, shortly before his tragic murder in 1964 at age 33. He'll appear in the new drama's fourth episode, to air in October.

Rafael will perform Cooke's hit song "Having A Party" (and one thing Hugh Hefner knows is how to throw a kickin' party!).

Sam Cooke is the latest legendary musician to land a spot in NBC's bunny club, following the previously announced Colbie Caillat as Lesley Gore. She'll croon "It's My Party" (and one thing Hef knows is... I'm sensing a theme here!).

The Playboy Club premieres September 19 with an "appearance" by Ike and Tina Turner; future episodes are expected to feature actors playing Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr.
