Here's an early first glimpse at McFarlane Toys' new line of deluxe 6-inch Walking Dead action figures. This figure is of lead character Rick Grimes as he appears in the comic book series created by Robert Kirkman. Joining Rick will be popular comic character Michonne along with a Zombie Lurker and Zombie Roamer.
A second line of figures will depict the AMC television series versions of the characters, including actor Andrew Lincoln as Officer Grimes, as well as figures based Norman Reedus as the villainous Daryl Dixon and two zombies for Rick and Daryl to combat — a Zombie Walker and a Zombie Biter. Ouch! Both lines will hit specialty stores in the fall (the first in September, the second in November).
"Kirkman has created a world that is macabre and suspenseful with deeply drawn characters: both human and zombies," says Todd McFarlane, McFarlane Toys' creative force and CEO. "Working with the creative talents of Kirkman and AMC, we have planned lines that authentically represent both the television and comic series — including mind-blowing details, likenesses and play action. We want to push the envelope so that the true essence of The Walking Dead series is captured."
Very cool, but I personally won't be satisfied until I get my Merle Dixon (with removable hand!) figure. Will you be adding these creepy crawlies to your collection?
