Keck's Exclusives: Glee Adds Female Coach

Dot Jones

Watch out Ken Tanaka and Sue Sylvester. There's a new force to be reckoned with on the William McKinley practice field. Actress Dot Jones will be joining the Fox comedy in Season 2 as a new football coach. A favorite of series creator Ryan Murphy, Dot previously appeared as Tess on Nip/Tuck and had a role on Murphy's unaired 2008 pilot Pretty/Handsome alongside future Glee players Mike O'Malley (Kurt's dad, Burt) and Jonathan Groff (Jesse). More recently, Dot, 46, appeared on episodes of 10 Things I Hate About You and HawthoRNe. Might the burly newcomer be Glee's first recurring lesbian character? "No, no," insists Chris Colfer (Kurt). "There's only room on the show for one gay character." Well, at least for now, as Murphy insists we'll eventually meet Kurt's new beau and Rachel's gay dad.
