Lawyer: Katie Holmes Did Not File for an Emergency Hearing

Katie Holmes
Katie Holmes' lawyer has denied a report that claims that the actress applied for an emergency hearing in her divorce from Tom Cruise.
"The reports about an emergent filing last Friday are incorrect," Jonathan W. Wolfe said in a statement. "Other than her action for divorce, the only pending application filed by Ms. Holmes remains her request for an anonymous caption."
An anonymous caption means that the divorce papers were filed anonymously.

This statement is in response to a HollywoodLife.com report that said Holmes requested an emergency hearing on Tuesday and that one was scheduled for July 17. Such a filing would have made the divorce and custody trial public.
Holmes filed for divorce last Thursday. She is reportedly seeking sole custody of her and Cruise's 6-year-old daughter, Suri.
