Katie Couric to Make ABC News Debut as Guest Co-Host on The View

ABC News is wasting no time putting Katie Couric to work.
The former CBS Evening News anchor, who starts at ABC on Aug. 1, will serve as a guest co-host on ABC's The View on Aug. 3, the network announced Wednesday. Couric's appearance coincides with the last week of the daytime talk show's 14th season.

Couric's stop by The View precedes her upcoming gig as the host and producer of her own syndicated daytime show, set to launch in 2012. She signed with ABC News last month after five years as anchor and managing editor of the CBS Evening News.
