Katie Couric will return to morning television on April 2 as the co-host of ABC's Good Morning America.
The role is only temporary, though. Couric will be filling in for current anchor Robin Roberts, who is taking the week off. Roberts announced the news on Thursday's episode of GMA.
"I'm going to be watching in bed!" Roberts said. "We're thrilled to have Katie here."
Katie Couric announces premiere date for daytime talk show
Couric left her post as anchor of NBC's Today in 2006 after 15 years on the show. Shortly after, she joined CBS Evening News, where she remained for five years.
Earlier this month, Couric announced the premiere date for her latest venture — a daytime talk show, Katie, executive produced by her former Today colleague, Jeff Zucker. The series will debut on September 15.
