Katherine Heigl is returning to television in an HBO film.
The former Grey's Anatomy star will produce and star in the cable network's adaptation of Ann Hood's best-selling novel The Knitting Circle.

The book revolves around a young mother (Heigl) who overcomes the death of her daughter by joining a knitting circle and sharing her grief with her new friends.
Heigl will produce the TV movie with her mother and producing partner, Nancy Heigl. Dirty Sexy Money creator Craig Wright is writing the screenplay.
Heigl, who won an Emmy during her run on Grey's, can next be seen in the ensemble comedy New Year's Eve.
