"I've been given the gift of gab, so why not use it?" Gosselin, 34, told an audience at the Southern Women's Show in Charlotte, N.C., according to the Charlotte Observer. "It is sort of like a career move, so I had to do it."
Kate Gosselin to shoot new talk show in New York
Gosselin started filming a talk show over the weekend with the Food Network's Paula Deen and several other prominent moms. The show is geared towards working moms and will resemble The View in its panel format.
The hosts include Gosselin; Deen; Rene Syler, former co-anchor of The Early Show; and Lee Woodruff, a family and lifestyle contributor for Good Morning America.
