Beginning Sept. 5, DioGuardi will make her Broadway debut as the wannabe vaudevillian who murders her ex-boyfriend, landing herself in jail, The Associated Press reports. The Idol alum and Platinum Hit judge will perform in the show for eight weeks.
Other leading ladies who have played Roxie include Ashlee Simpson, Melanie Griffith, Christie Brinkley and Renée Zellweger, who starred opposite Catherine Zeta-Jones in the 2002 Oscar-winning film adaptation of the Tony-winning musical.
