Good news, The Good Wife fans: Josh Charles is returning to the CBS legal drama for an upcoming Season 6 episode, TVLine.com reports. However, he is coming back as a director, not to reprise his role as the late Will Gardner.
Emmy nods: Snubs and surprises
The actor, who earned his second Emmy nomination Thursday for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, will step behind the camera for the fourth time. Charles previously directed the Season 4 episode "The Art of War," and Season 5 episodes "The Next Month" and "Tying the Knot."
Charles' character was shockingly gunned down in court last season after the actor decided to leave the critically acclaimed series.
The new season of The Good Wife premieres Sunday, Sept. 21 at 9/8c on CBS. Are you happy that Charles is retuning?
