Woman in Jon Gosselin Photos Speaks Out in His Defense

As nearly 60 percent of voters in a TVGuide.com poll said they want to see Jon and Kate Gosselin address a photo scandal on their show, Jon & Kate Plus 8 , the woman at the center of it all called the infidelity rumors "absurd."
Deanna Hummel, the 23-year-old woman who appeared in the photos with the married father of eight, told People there's absolutely no romantic connection between the two. "We're just friends," she said. "It's absurd that anyone would think otherwise." (Nevertheless, new rumors seem to contradict Hummel's statements.)
Hummel, who is single, said she met Gosselin, 32, through a mutual friend a couple of months ago, and the two have hung out a few times. Those instances, which included nights out and visits to one another's homes, were always innocent and in group settings, Hummel says.
"We just talk and socialize, the normal things you do when you see friends," she said. "We all have guy and girl friends. Because of who he is, it gets portrayed the wrong way, and it's unfair to him and his family."
Gosselin has said being photographed late at night with a woman who is not his wife showed "poor judgment." Hummel says pursuing a married man would be equally bad judgment on her part.
"He's a very nice guy, don't get me wrong. But he's married with eight children," she said. "[He] has a great family life. I would never ever think to pursue anything."
