Comedian Jon Glaser Joins Parks and Recreation

Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) will be settling into her new job as a recently elected city councilwoman on the upcoming fifth season of Parks and Recreation — but not all of her new colleagues will welcome her with open arms.

Jon Glaser, a writer for Late Night with Conan O'Brien and star of Adult Swim's Delocated!, has been cast on the NBC comedy as a local orthodontist who also serves on the town council and quickly becomes Leslie's "nemesis," TV Line reports.

Parks and Recreation heads to Washington, D.C.; lands Senator cameos

"He doesn't find [Leslie] interesting or charming at all, and doesn't care about her bright-eyed, bushy-tailed attitude toward making the town better," showrunner Mike Schur tells TV Line. "He just doesn't like her."

Glaser's character will be introduced in the third episode and will recur throughout the season.

Parks and Recreation premieres on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 9:30/8:30c.
