Joe and Tina Simpson to Divorce After 34 Years of Marriage

Jessica and Ashlee Simpson's parents, Joe and Tina Simpson, have filed for divorce after 34 years of marriage, People reports.
The news comes a day after the National Enquirer reported that Joe, 54, had come out as gay to his family — an accusation the famous family denied in a statement.

"It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved," their rep told the magazine. "Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time."
Tina, 52, filed papers last month in Texas and cited "discord or conflict of personalities" as grounds for their split. Joe, a former minister who serves as Jessica and Ashlee's managers, filed a response to Tina's petition asking that she not get anything in the divorce.
The couple married in 1978 and are also grandparents to Ashlee's son, Bronx, and Jessica's daughter, Maxwell.
