Jim Carrey Drops Out of Dumb & Dumber Sequel

Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey has dropped out of the Dumb & Dumber sequel, Entertainment Tonight reports.

According to Carrey's rep, the actor was "increasingly frustrated" by the lack of progress on the project and the lack of enthusiasm from Warner Bros. and New Line. "I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer," Carrey said in a statement. "After all it's implied in the title."

In April, the Farrelly Brothers announced that Carrey and co-star Jeff Daniels would return for the sequel, which was scheduled to being filming in September. A prequel was released in 2003 and starred Derek Richardson and Eric Christian Olsen in their respective roles.
