The fist-pumping cast of MTV's hit reality show were supposed to start shooting Season 3 Monday, but refused to participate without first negotiating new contracts for more money, TMZ reports.

Jennifer "JWoww" Farley, Ronnie Magro, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, Pauly Delvecchio and Vinny Guadagnino refused to film Monday, according to TMZ, and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, whose segments were scheduled to start shooting Tuesday, planned to do the same.

The Miami-centric second season premieres on MTV on July 29.

A rep for MTV told TVGuide.com, "We don't comment on any contractual conversations. Season 2 premieres July 29 and production is on schedule." Emails and calls to the cast's reps were not immediately returned.
