The fourth season of Jersey Shore, which will chronicle the cast's exploits in Florence, Italy, is set to premiere Thursday, August 4 at 10/9c on MTV, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Additionally, the cast will return to Seaside Heights, NJ, later this month to film its fifth season. If it follows the pattern of the other two Jersey Shore Jersey seasons, it should debut sometime in early winter.
A week before the Season 4 premiere, on July 28 at 10/9c, MTV will air a special exploring the series as a cultural phenomenon.

Season 4 was plagued with issues even before it started filming, when the mayor of Florence imposed various restrictions on the cast, including banning them from being filmed while drinking in public. Additionally, Italy's president Giorgio Napolitano's visit to Florence pushed back the show's May start date by a few days. Most recently, star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi was involved in a fender-bender with Italian police.
