"Once the boardwalk heats back up, the series will return to the Jersey shore to complete the season," a network representative said.
Season 2 will also mark the return of Angelina Pivarnick, who was evicted from the house three episodes into the first season for missing work.
The reality show also put out a general casting call earlier this week to explore the possibility of adding new people to "carry on the legacy."
Jersey Shore seeks to "carry on legacy" with online casting call
Inspired by Jersey Shore's successful first season — which attracted 4.8 million viewers for the Season 1 finale — the show's production and casting companies have begun planning a new series, tentatively titled The Persian Version.
The Persian Version is said to focus on young, affluent Persian-Americans living in Los Angeles. As the casting call reads, "Once you go Persian, there is no other version!"
A network and shooting date for The Persian Version had not yet been announced.
