Say goodbye to Jerzdays. MTV's smash hit Jersey Shore is ending after the upcoming season.
Snooki adjusts to not-so-glamorous motherhood
In anticipation of the sixth season premiere on Oct. 4 at 10/9c, MTV will air special farewell programming beginning Thursday, Sept. 6, the same day as the Video Music Awards. Starting at 11 am ET/PT, MTV will air an "awards-themed" marathon of Jersey Shore episodes, featuring iconic moments from the series' history — each honored with an award, such as "Best Bromance."
After the fun refresher of Shore episodes past, Gym, Tan, Look Back (airing at 6/5c) will give viewers a special preview of the final season. The one-hour retrospective will also provide a forum for cast members to reminisce about their favorite moments from the series and provide input about their quick rise to fame. The cast will then give their first interviews since the announcement at 7/6c, during the live VMA pre-show red carpet.
Snooki welcomes a baby boy
In addition, following each new Season 6 episod, MTV will air extra Shore programming, ranging from after-shows with the cast to the always dramatic reunion special.
Jersey Shore became a pop culture phenomenon when it debuted in 2009, quickly becoming the network's highest-rated series. It has since spawned two spin-offs, The Pauly D Project and Snooki & JWoww. And for those of you already mourning the loss of Seaside, Snooki & JWoww has been picked up for a second season.
