Supercomputer Blows Away Humans on Jeopardy! Round 2
After a second day of competition on Jeopardy!, supercomputer Watson made its human rivals look like, well, mere mortals.
Jeopardy! showdown: Human and supercomputer tied after Round 1
The IBM computer, which ended Day 1 tied with all-time winner Brad Rutter, pulled ahead Tuesday night, earning $35,734, while Rutter and former contestant Ken Jennings lagged behind with $10,400 and $4,800, respectively.
Watson did miss the final question — under the category "U.S. Cities."

The answer: "Its largest airport is named for a World War II hero; its second largest for a World War II battle." Rutter and Jennings correctly wrote, "What is Chicago?" while Watson guessed, "What is Toronto?????" However, it only wagered $947.
The match will wrap up Wednesday, with the winner collecting $1 million. The competition was taped last month.
