Jenny McCarthy is officially joining The View and will make her debut on the daytime talk show in September, ABC announced Monday.
"We are delighted that Jenny will be joining us as a permanent co-host on The View starting in September," co-host Barbara Walters said in a statement. "Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor. She can be serious and outrageous. She has connected with our audience and offers a fresh point of view. Jenny will be a great addition to the show as we usher in an exciting new chapter for The View."

McCarthy, who currently hosts The Jenny McCarthy Show on VH-1, will replace co-host Joy Behar, who is set to leave the show in August. Brooke Shields is reportedly in talks to replace Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who departed last week and is heading to Fox News.
"I'm beyond thrilled to be joining Barbara and the other amazing women at the table," McCarthy said in a statement. "I look forward to helping make hot topics a little bit hotter, and showing my mom that my interrupting skills have finally paid off."
The View will also need to find a replacement for Walters, who has said she plans to retire next May. Co-hosts Sherri Shepherd and Whoopi Goldberg are expected to return to the show.
McCarthy will make her View debut on Monday, Sept. 9. Do you think she'll make a good co-host?
