Jennifer Grey trades her Dancing With the Stars spangles for hospital gowns when she guests as the mother of a mysteriously ill baby on tonight's House.
"Getting this part made me remember how much I love acting," says Grey, who took time off to raise her daughter Stella, 8. "That feeling of community and creativity hadn't been realized for a long time."
Hospital scenes, though, aren't new for Grey, who had four operations only a few months before putting on her dancing shoes. While seeking help for neck and back pain, the actress discovered she not only needed spinal surgery but that a neck lump was malignant. Now she's cancer-free and wowing the judges on DWTS.
"I hadn't danced since I did Dirty Dancing 23 years ago," she says. "The fun factor is so much more than the fear factor."
