Lone Star's James Wolk Moving to Georgetown

James Wolk

Lone Star's James Wolk is going from Texas to D.C.: The actor has landed the lead in Josh Schwartz's political pilot Georgetown, according to New York Magazine's Vulture blog.

Produced by Gossip Girl creators Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the ABC drama focuses on young people in the Washington, D.C., scene.

Wolk would play Andrew Pierce, a sophisticated Yale graduate who is the youngest presidential speech writer on record — not unlike President Obama's real-life young speech writer Jon Favreau. Wolk's Pierce starts off writing for a Democratic president, but mulls working for a Republican when he feels his administration's tendency to compromise has eroded its promise.

It's been a good week for Lone Star alums. Wolk's casting comes days after his Lone Star wife, Adrianne Palicki, was tapped to play Wonder Woman on NBC's reboot.
