The Bachelor's most recent pair is no longer on the wings of love as Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi have split
The couple's rep told OK!, "Jake and Vienna have split and appreciate the respect for their privacy at this time."
The Bachelor's terrible track record: A history of failed romances
Pavelka confirmed the split, but declined to elaborate on the reasons behind it. "I'm saddened by the whole thing, but sometimes love just isn't enough in a relationship," he told TMZ Tuesday. "No matter what happens, Vienna and I will remain friends."
This break-up brings the total number of love matches on the reality dating series down to 1 for 14, with Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, who were married in February, as the only successful duo.
Bachelor's Chris Harrison on Jake choosing Vienna: "She's not a popular choice"
There are currently two couples still going strong from the five seasons of Bachelorette. Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter's wedding was televised on ABC in 2003 and Jillian Harris and beau Ed Swiderski are engaged.
Pavelka, 32, and Girardi, 24, became engaged on the season finale of Bachelor's 14th season. Pavelka, a pilot, immediately went on to compete on Dancing with the Stars, where he told TVGuide.com that the idea of his partner Chelsie Hightower choreographing his and Vienna's wedding dance would be awesome.
He then added, "We're a little ways away from that ... We're trying to have a really mature relationship now. We have two nights a week where cell phones go away no matter what's going on and we spend the evening together, walk down the beach. It's just her and me."
The duo ironically danced to their theme song "On the Wings of Love" during Dancing's season finale.
