J.R. Ramirez has landed a recurring role on The CW's new dramedy Emily Owens, M.D., TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
The House of Payne alum will play AJ, a confident doctor who returns to the hospital after a leave of absence hoping to get his job back. AJ, who was friends with Micah (Michael Rady), also has a bit of a conflicted history in the workplace with Gina Bandari (Necar Zadegan). Could the new Nazi have a soft spot for tough docs?

Ramirez, whose other credits include GCB and 90210, will first appear in an episode slated for January.
