J.K. Rowling will executive produce a three-hour miniseries for HBO based on her best-seller The Casual Vacancy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Harry Potter author will work with the BBC on the adaptation, which announced plans in 2012 to produce the novel for BBC One.

Casual Vacancy tells the story of a small, seemingly idyllic English village that is brimming with war — war between the rich and poor, war between teenagers and their parents, war between husbands and wives and war between teachers and students.
Rowling's producing partner and literary agent Neil Blair will executive-produce alongside the author, Paul Trijbits and Rick Senat. EastEnders alum Sarah Phelps will pen the miniseries, Ruth Kenley-Letts will produce and Jonny Campbell will direct.
