Tyler Perry's For Colored Girls topped the 42nd NAACP Image Awards with three trophies, including Best Picture.

The film also took home the director and supporting actress awards Friday for Perry and Kimberly Elise, respectively.

Perry had a great night overall: His TV series, Tyler Perry's House of Payne, won Best Comedy Series, while his other show, Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns, earned Best Actor in a Comedy Series honors for star David Mann.

Halle Berry snagged Best Actress for her work in the drama Frankie & Alice, which also won Best Independent Film. Denzel Washington (The Book of Eli) and Samuel L. Jackson (Mother and Child) won the lead and supporting actor prizes, respectively.

For television, Grey's Anatomy won Best Drama Series, while NCIS: Los Angeles' LL Cool J and Southland's Regina King took the dramatic lead acting prizes.

Other TV winners included Ice Cube (Best Supporting Actor in Comedy Series for Are We There Yet?); Vanessa Williams (Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Desperate Housewives); Sofia Vergara (Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Modern Family); and Terrence Howard (Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Law & Order: Los Angeles).

In the music categories, Willow Smith won Best New Artist, while Usher and Mary J. Blige collected trophies for Best Male and Female Artists, respectively.
