Hurricane Sandy Telethon Raises Nearly $23 Million

Friday's telethon to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy raised nearly $23 million, NBCUniversal and the American Red Cross report.

"We are incredibly grateful and humbled by this outpouring of support for those who are suffering as a result of Superstorm Sandy," American Red Cross Chief Marketing Officer Peggy Dyer said in a statement.

Stars align on NBC to help victims of Hurricane Sandy

Hosted by Matt Lauer, Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together featured first-hand stories of those affected by the hurricane as well as performances by Christina Aguilera, Jon Bon Jovi, Sting, Mary J. Blige, Billy Joel, Jimmy Fallon, Bruce Springsteen and Steven Tyler.
