The son of The Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes' son was arrested Tuesday on charges of carrying drugs onto prison grounds, authorities said.
Bryson Bryant turned himself in Tuesday on the charge, which stems from his March 7 arrest, according to Stacey Bourbonnais, spokeswoman for the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department. Bryant was charged with possession of less than one ounce of marijuana on March 7 when he was found with the drug while visiting an inmate at Georgia's Gwinnett County area jail.

Bryant, Leakes' eldest child, has appeared regularly on the show -- in the first season touring colleges and in the second season after moving back home. The reality series will return for its third season this summer.
According to Bourbonnais, Bryant also should have been charged with crossing a guard line with drugs, but due to a miscommunication, the warrant was not issued until after Bryant had already posted bail on the marijuana possession charge and left jail.
Once Bryant was made aware of the new warrant, he turned himself in Tuesday and was released after posting $5,700 bond.

After her son's first arrest, Leakes said she was "disappointed" in her son's actions.
"Certainly, my husband and I will deal with this family issue in a private manner," she said in a statement to People. "My son is not the first young adult to experiment with marijuana, and he certainly won't be the last. Still, as parents, this is a chance for us to have an open dialogue with him about the dangers of any substance abuse. I realize as a parent that my job is never done. And as I've tweeted, tough love was in order."
Calls to Leakes' reps went unreturned.
