Jesse Spencer signed a new contract to continue with the Fox medical drama late Tuesday night, a rep for NBC Universal, the studio that produces the show, tells TVGuide.com. He will return as a series regular.
Other details of the deal were not immediately available, but the lengthy negotiations went down to the wire: The show is scheduled to resume production later this month.
Spencer revealed the deal a little early on Tuesday. "I'm coming back for Season 8 with a tan and a busted board," he tweeted after surfing at Newport Beach, Calif.
