House of Cards and Breaking Bad are among the shows nominated for this year's BAFTA TV Awards. The Netflix series earned a nod in the first year that a web-based broadcaster was eligible to enter.

Cards and Breaking Bad will compete against Danish series Borgen and France's The Returned in the International category. British miniseries Southcliffe leads the pack with four nominations including Leading Actor Sean Harris and Supporting Actor Rory Kinnear. As for top drama series, BroadchurchMy Mad Fat DiaryTop of the Lake and The Village earned nods.

The ceremony will be held at London's Theater Royal Drury Lane on May 18.
