Idol Vocal Coach Joins Tonight Show Band

Dorian Holley

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno has recruited another American Idol player: vocal coach and associate musical director Dorian Holley.

Tonight Show taps Idol's Rickey Minor as band leader

Holley will serve as lead singer of the Tonight Show band starting June 7, joining fellow Idol alum Rickey Minor, a show rep tells TVGuide.com. Minor was tapped last month to replace the departing Kevin Eubanks as band leader.

A former backup singer for Michael Jackson, Holley was also the vocal director on the late star's This Is It tour and had rehearsed with Jackson hours before he died last June. Holley has coached Idol hopefuls since 2007.

Fox declined to comment.
