Henry Ian Cusick

The dismissals over at Shondaland continue.

Henry Ian Cusick will not return for the second season of Shonda Rhimes' Scandal, TVGuide.com has confirmed. As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Cusick's contract was not picked up for Season 2, though his exit is being described as a "mutual decision." During the first season of the ABC series, the Lost alum portrayed ladies man Stephen Finch, part of Olivia Pope's team of professional fixers.

Cusick, well-known for playing stranded islander Desmond Hume on ABC's Lost, recently guest-starred in the future-set episode of Fringe. With 2036 playing heavily into the fifth and final season of Fringe, here's hoping they'll get him out of that amber so he can return for another guest spot.

Cusick's departure comes on the heels of Tim Daly being fired from Private Practice, as well as Chyler Leigh and Kim Raver leaving Grey's Anatomy, all series from Rhimes.
