TNT Renews Hawthorne

TNT has renewed medical drama Hawthorne for a third season, the network announced Wednesday.

The series, which stars Jada Pinkett Smith and Alias alum Michael Vartan, will return with 10 episodes in 2011. Smith also serves as executive producer.
The show's second season averaged 3.7 million viewers per episode. "This series has performed extremely well among our key demos and proven itself to be a great summer series," Michael Wright, TNT's vice president and head of programming, said in a statement. "We are very excited to continue working with Jada and Hawthorne's outstanding production team and cast."
