The Biz: Harry Smith Heading to NBC News

CBS News long-timer Harry Smith is heading to NBC News, TV Guide Magazine has learned.
A source inside CBS said Smith is joining NBC to be part of a new prime time newsmagazine with NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams. The network plans to launch the new program during the 2011-12 season.
Smith was co-anchor of The Early Show until last November and had previously been part of the anchor team for CBS This Morning. In recent months he's been a substitute anchor for CBS Evening News and a senior correspondent. He first joined the network in 1987.
An NBC News spokeswoman could not be reached for comment on Friday.
