True Blood's fifth season will premiere on Sunday, June 10 at 9/8c, HBO announced Wednesday.

This season will be the last for showrunner Alan Ball, who has been with the show since it debuted in 2009.

The network also announced that Newsroom, its new drama created by Aaron Sorkin  (The West Wing, Sports Night and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) would debuting on Sunday, June 24 at 10/9c. The drama follows Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels), a controversial and brash cable news anchor. He answers to Sam Waterston (playing the network's president), and Jane Fonda, who stars as CEO of the network's parent company.
