This Christmas season, the Grinch may finally meet his match.
Grumpy Cat, one of the Internet's most famous felines, is set to star in a yuletide-themed movie for Lifetime, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The greatest TV pets
The live-action project, titled Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever, centers on a pet-store cat who is constantly overlooked and the 12-year-old girl who can communicate with her. Tim Hill (SpongeBob Squarepants) and Jeff Morris will write the script. "It brings fun and irreverence that we haven't had at Lifetime," Lifetime's Vice President of Original Movies, Arturo Interian, told the magazine. "We're so known for our heartfelt sentimentality that it will poke fun at those stereotypes."
Lifetime is currently casting for the voice of Grumpy Cat, and shooting will start this summer. The movie will also feature cameos from other Internet memes, so leave your wishlist of appearances in the comments!
Since becoming an online sensation in 2012, Grumpy Cat has spawned a book and a line of coffee beverages, in addition to making appearances on American Idol and the MTV Movie Awards.
