Macklemore & Lewis won four awards from their seven nominations, including best new artist, becoming the third hip-hop artist to win the award after Lauryn Hill and Arrested Development. They won three awards in the pre-show: rap album for The Heist
and rap performance and rap song for "Thrift Shop."
Daft Punk's Random Access Memories
took album of the year, dance/electronic album and engineered album. Their hit "Get Lucky" with Williams, who was named producer of the year, and Nile Rodgers
, snagged record of the year and pop/group performance.
Lorde, 17, became the third-youngest Grammy winner ever, picking up pop solo performance and song of the year for "Royals." She shared the latter, a songwriter's award, with co-writer Joel Little.
Jay Z , who led with nine nods, and Justin Timberlake won two awards for two of their collaborations: music video for "Suit & Tie" and rap/sung collaboration for "Holy Grail." Timberlake nabbed R&B song for "Pusher Love Girl" as well.

Kacey Musgraves scored two awards: country album for Same Trailer, Different Park and country song for "Merry Go Round." Song of the Year
Pop vocal album honors went to Bruno Mars for Unorthodox Jukebox, and Dave Grohl, Paul McCartney, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear won rock song for "Cut Me Some Slack."
Other winners include Rihanna (urban contemporary album for Unapologetic), Alicia Keys (R&B album for Girl on Fire), Led Zeppelin (rock album for Celebration Day), Kathy Griffin (comedy album for Calm Down Gurrl), Stephen Colbert (spoken word album for America Again: Re-Becoming The Greatness We Never Weren't).
