Alan Cumming Signs on for Three More Seasons of The Good Wife
Alan Cumming as Eli Gold, The Good Wife
His candidate may have just won the election for Cook County State's Attorney, but it looks like Eli Gold's work is just getting started.
Alan Cumming has signed a new three-year deal to appear on The Good Wife through Season 5, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

Cumming, 46, first appeared last season as a recurring character on the CBS drama before he was promoted to series regular for Season 2. Cumming was nominated for an Emmy for Best Guest Actor in a Drama for his work on the series last year, but lost to Dexter's John Lithgow.
The deal follows a big turning point for Cumming's character, Eli. While he spent the majority of Season 1 repairing Peter's image and all of Season 2 (thus far) on Peter's re-election campaign, it remains to be seen what role Eli will play now that Peter is back in office. In the last new episode, it was hinted that Peter will next run for U.S. Senate, and Eli is also a client at Alicia's law firm.
News of Cumming's deal was first reported by TVLine.com.
The Good Wife has yet to be renewed for Season 3.
Are you glad Cumming is sticking around?
