Whoopi Goldberg owns up to exchanging a few "choice words" with Michaele Salahi, but says she did not hit the Real Housewives of D.C. star.

"I went up to her and told her that she knew I didn't hit her, and yeah, you know, how I said it: choice words," Goldberg said on Thursday's View. "I make no apology for my choice words."

Real Housewives' Michaele Salahi: White House party was the second best night of my life

On Wednesday's show, Salahi and her co-stars were being interviewed by Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd when Goldberg, who was backstage, walked on set and touched Salahi on the arm to ask her to get back on the topic of conversation: her alleged crashing of the White House state dinner in November with husband Tareq Salahi.

According to a statement from Salahi's lawyer, Lisa Bloom, Salahi was "surprised and unnerved" that Goldberg came up from behind and "grabbed her arm." Backstage, Bloom said Goldberg yelled a series of profanities at Salahi.

"But then her husband got in my face, had his Blackberry out and started taking pictures of me, and needless to say, I really went off then," Goldberg said Thursday. "And there was more choicer words. I mean they were so choice you could've cut 'em with a knife and eaten them."

Salahi appeared on NBC's Today on Thursday to recount her side of the story, saying Goldberg "berated" her.
