Glee’s Ryan Murphy Sells Comedy Pilot to NBC

After a multiple-network bidding war, NBC has ordered a comedy pilot from Glee creator Ryan Murphy. The untitled single-camera sitcom will tell the story of a gay couple and the surrogate mother carrying their child, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Murphy will write and executive-produce the pilot, alongside his Glee co-executive producer Allison Adler. Dante Di Loreto, who produces drama thriller American Horror Story and Glee, will be a non-writing executive producer on the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The project would be Murphy's first half-hour show and fifth overall series. Murphy's most recent series, American Horror Story on FX, premiered to 3.2 million viewers on Oct. 5. His credits also include Popular and Nip/Tuck.
